Welcome to Unfold ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Unfold mobile application (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Unfold. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Your Account
To access certain features, you create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
- Membership. Full access to Unfold — the reading plan, Neil Broere's study notes and teaching videos, the Journal, personal verse notes, bookmarks, and highlighting — requires a membership. Every plan includes every feature; plans differ only by how many people they cover: Individual, Couple, or Family (up to 6, delivered through Apple Family Sharing). Each plan is offered on a monthly or annual basis at the price shown in the App at the time of purchase.
- Free trial. A 7-day free trial is offered on the Individual plan to users who have not previously used a trial. At the end of the trial period, your subscription renews at the displayed price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Renewal. All subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless turned off in your App Store account settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID will be charged at confirmation of purchase and on each renewal.
- Managing or canceling. Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions on your Apple device. Deleting the App alone does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their refund policy.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App; (b) use the App for any unlawful purpose; (c) attempt to access accounts, data, or content that does not belong to you; (d) interfere with the operation of the App or its servers; or (e) use the App to harass, abuse, or harm another person.
5. User Content
Personal notes, journal entries, bookmarks, highlights, and any other content you create in the App ("User Content") belong to you. You grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display your User Content solely to operate the App for you. We do not sell, share, or use your User Content for any other purpose.
6. Scripture and Third-Party Content
Bible text in the App is provided under license from the applicable rights holders. The New American Standard Bible 2020 (NASB 2020) is © 2020 by The Lockman Foundation. All rights reserved. Study notes, sermons, and teaching content are authored by Neil Broere and licensed for use within the App. Reproducing or redistributing this content outside the App requires written permission from the rights holder.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, its design, logos, and original content are owned by Unfold and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to use our trademarks without prior written permission.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unfold, its affiliates, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via the email associated with your account. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Unfold is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions.
